A young defender who can operate in either full-back position, Chris signed a one-year professional contract with Luton Town during the summer of 2006.

He had progressed through the youth setup at Kenilworth Road and had spent over a year out of the game after suffering a horrific broken leg playing for the Hatters Youth side as a 17-year-old. The injury was complicated by an awful infection that he picked up after sustaining the injury and it could well have ended his career at one point.

On his return to full fitness, he was rewarded with a new one-year professional deal by the Luton Town management, thus enabling him to show if he had fully recovered from the terrible injury that he had suffered.

A hard working young full-back, Chris was a member of the Luton Town side that lifted the 2006 Beds Premier Cup and he was handed the number 35 squad number prior to the start of the 2006-07 campaign - a big season for him, his first as a professional footballer.

Having recovered from the broken leg that had at one stage threatened his career, Chris was loaned to Luton’s non-league neighbours Hitchin Town in late October 2006, making his debut in a 2-1 Southern League Premier win at Cheshunt. Operating mainly at left-back for the Canaries, Chris made 4 League appearances during his temporary stay at Top Field (1 coming as a substitute) before returning to Kenilworth Road.

However, he soon suffered the unfortunate news that he would not be offered a new deal and was released from his contract with Luton Town by mutual consent after failing to make a first-team appearance.

Without a club at the end of the 2006-07 season, Chris will be hoping he can find a new side and work his way back to becoming a professional footballer once again.
