Warren Neill

Assistant Manager

Acton-born former Queen's Park Rangers and Portsmouth defender Warren Neill was appointed as assistant manager to new Luton Town manager Mick Harford in January 2008.

Warren's coaching skills were well known to Harford as the pair worked together during Harford's spell at Queen's Park Rangers in 2007.  In fact, when R's manager John Gregory was sacked, Harford, who had been assistant manager, was appointed Caretaker Manager, and Warren become his assistant.

As a player, Warren was a right-back and he made his QPR debut against Chelsea in 1980 and he went on to make 181 League appearances at Loftus Road, scoring 3 goals.  He played in the 1982 FA Cup final replay against Tottenham Hotspur and he was also part of QPR's Second Division-winning side of 1983 and their 1986 League Cup final team.

In 1988, Warren joined Portsmouth, where he spent a further eight seasons, making a further 250 career appearances, before retiring from professional football.

He was invited onto the QPR coaching staff by manager John Gregory towards the end of the 2006-07 season on a temporary basis, making the deal permanent in June 2007.  On 16th January 2008 Warren joined Luton Town as assistant to Mick Harford.
