HATTERS BOSS NEWELL TAKES EX-SCOTLAND STRIKER BOOTH ON TRIAL
Mike Newell
Luton Town boss Mike Newell has taken former Scotland international striker Scott Booth on a week's trial at Kenilworth Road.

Booth, 32, has scored 6 goals in 21 caps for Scotland, and has recently left Scottish Premier side Aberdeen, where he had been in his second spell at the club.

He began his career at Deeside BC before joining The Dons in 1988. After 43 goals in 164 League appearances, he moved to German Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund on a Bosman free transfer in June 1997. After a loan spell with FC Utrecht, he joined Dutch side FC Twente for £400,000 in May 1999, before returning to Pittodrie last summer on a free transfer.

He scored 8 goals in 21 League appearances last season.

Booth is known to Newell as the pair played together during Newell's brief spell as a player with Aberdeen and the Hatters boss has now given Booth the chance to prove he is worth a deal at Kenilworth Road.
