TRUST IN LUTON: LIGHT AT THE END OF THE TUNNEL
Trust in Luton today announced that the club's wait for a sale is nearly at an end.
A TiL spokesman confirmed this morning: "A Trust representative has been in regular contact with Bill Tomlins, who is heading the consortium bidding to take the club out of administrative receivership. We were informed yesterday evening that the Football League is now happy for the sale to be completed, and this should occur shortly, all being well."
"The FL's executive board has now been given the power to authorise the sale, meaning there is no need to wait for the League's next full board meeting.
"It's been frustrating for all of us. Matters have been moving along at such a slow pace, and there has been no news we have been able to release to Trust members or the media. I would like to thank our membership for being so patient. I know they recognise that all the committee are absolutely dedicated to their Trust roles, and are working their very hardest to secure the safety of the club.
"Really the Football League's strict insolvency rules and their painstaking overseeing of this sale are both positive things - they just want to make sure that this club, one of their members, is all set up safely for the future."
TiL will make a further statement once the sale is completed, and release details of the forthcoming committee elections.
