SHOWUNMI SIGNS TWO-AND-A-HALF YEAR DEAL

Luton Town manager Mike Newell has signed striker Enoch Showunmi to a permanent two-and-a-half year contract at Kenilworth Road – handing the Hatters a big boost ahead of the clash at Blundell Park against Grimsby Town on Tuesday night.

The Hatters boss had made it a priority to sign the striker – who bagged a hat-trick on Saturday against Brentford to take his tally of goals for the season to 5 – when the club came out of administration. It now seems as if the club may well be set to come out of administration very soon as the Football League have given Newell permission to sign Showunmi – who had been playing for expenses – on a permanent contract.
