HATTERS BOSS NEWELL HOPES TO SIGN SHOWUNMI

Mike Newell insists his first duty on Luton Town coming out of administration will be to offer wonderkid Enoch Showunmi a new contract.

The Hatters spotted Showunmi playing parks football last summer and he is playing for expenses because Football League rules prevent Luton offering him a deal until their takeover goes through.

But he has been a revelation, and underlined his huge potential with a hat-trick in a 4-1 demolition of Brentford at the weekend.

Newell said: "The most important thing will be when we come out of administration. I am told it will be any day now. And when it does happen I will offer a contract to Showunmi."
